Community and Social Cohesion Programmes
Nurturing trust and reconciliation in communities
Peace Collective's Community and Social Cohesion Programmes are designed to address social harms, reduce division, and foster a sense of belonging among community members. We bring people together to rebuild relationships, facilitate dialogue, and work towards reconciliation in communities experiencing conflict or social unrest.
Core activities
Dialogue Facilitation: We create spaces for open and respectful conversations where individuals from different backgrounds and perspectives can come together to share their experiences, listen, and understand each other. Our facilitation aims to reduce tension and increase trust within communities.
Community Engagement Initiatives: We design and implement activities that bring community members together around shared goals. These initiatives can include collaborative community projects, cultural events, and initiatives aimed at increasing cross-community interaction to strengthen social cohesion.
Collaborative Conflict Resolution: We support communities in resolving conflicts through non-violent approaches that focus on repairing relationships. Our interventions encourage community-led solutions and equip participants with the skills needed for ongoing reconciliation efforts.
Key outcomes
Increased Community Trust: Enhanced mutual understanding and trust among diverse community groups.
Strengthened Community Bonds: Greater participation in community events and initiatives, leading to stronger social networks.
Reduced Social Harms: Decreased incidents of division and conflict through ongoing dialogue and collaborative resolution.
